“Thank you for proclaiming a gospel that rings true!”
She caught me off guard. I’d just led the first of five two-hour sessions at camp. I never quite know how to assess how things are going when I speak, sing, or lead whatever I’ve been invited to lead. On this day, while in line for the salad bar in a noisy camp dining hall, she said “Thank you” in a way that was more sincere than the “Nice sermon pastor” pats on the back I sometimes get when I preach. This brief conversation in line for a feast of iceberg lettuce and other questionable produce was the start of my budding friendship with Faith and Ben. They welcomed me into their family over the next several days and our conversations were so life-giving and needed. They created and held a safe space for me throughout the week. In our conversations, I learned that Faith, along with having an accidentally viral Tik-Tok video that has over a million views (https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZT8YM9wAS/), has a blog where she writes about things like a “Trauma-Informed Gospel” and a “Descriptive Gospel”. She also told me that no one really knows about or reads her work. It was on “Blogger”. Honestly, I didn’t even know “Blogger” was still a thing. It is, and I started reading her work that night. Her writing is raw and powerful. Her perspective speaks to me and has already helped me find language for things I’ve struggled to articulate. With her permission, I am writing today to introduce you to her work. She is a self-proclaimed Luddite but managed to move everything to Substack from the papyrus and quill platform that is Blogger. 😂
So, today friends — right this second before you do anything else — would you subscribe to Faith’s Substack using the form below? Support her work. Encourage her to keep sharing her thoughts and perspectives.
Thank you
for your caring, bold, thoughtful way of pointing me and others to the good news!
Let Me Introduce You to My Friend Faith
Ahhh! Wow! Thank you so much Brian–for being who you are and seeing who I am as well. Oh man, I feel so special. 😍
Also thank you to Substack for allowing me to import my entire blog with the push of a single button. Feats of mammoth that even *I* can do.
